Taking payment
Tap Charge (or F9). Choose the payment method:
- Cash: enter the amount received (or tap a quick amount, Exact amount). The till shows the change to give.
- Card (terminal): run the card on your payment terminal first, then confirm here once the payment is approved. The terminal slip reference is optional but helps with reconciliation. The till is not connected to the terminal: it records what you confirm.
- Customer credit: choose the customer; the amount goes on their credit book, up to their credit limit. See Customer credit.
Split payment
Split payment (card, credit and cash): add one or more card or credit parts; the balance to pay in cash is shown. Change is only given on cash.
Paying with loyalty points
When the manager has turned on Pay with points (Promotions and loyalty: points per 1 MAD, minimum per payment, cap per receipt) and a loyalty customer is chosen on the receipt, the payment screen offers Loyalty points (never by default). The till adds a part paid in points, up to what the customer can use; the rest is paid in cash, by card or another way. Below the part: the points used and the points available.
- Points used are rounded up to the next point (at 10 points per 1 MAD, 5,55 MAD costs 56 points).
- It is a payment method, not a discount: the receipt's total, VAT and prices do not change. The part paid with points does not earn points.
- Points do not go into the drawer: the close does not count them. The receipt shows them (Loyalty points, with the number of points), and the daily report lists them separately.
- Several tills: each till gets the customer's points from the server at the time of payment (internet connection needed); offline, it only uses the points it already has. Unused points go back to the server after a few minutes, for another till.
- No customer code: nothing proves the customer is at the counter, so every points payment is recorded in the log under the name of the person taking it (and of the approving manager, if there is one). Taking payment with points is a permission (“Take payment with the customer's loyalty points”): all basic roles have it, a custom role may not.
- Approval above … MAD (optional, off by default, in Pay with points): above this amount paid in points, a cashier needs a manager's approval on the spot (their name, PIN and authenticator code); the payment is then approved for this receipt, this customer and this exact amount. A manager or the owner pays above it without approval.
Tips
When tips are turned on (Receipts and printing, manager), the payment screen shows an optional Tip block:
- enter the amount the customer leaves, or tap Keep the change (cash: all the change becomes the tip), Round to 5 or Round to 10;
- in cash, the tip comes out of the money received: the change to give goes down by the same amount;
- by card, enter the tip before running the card: the terminal is charged the total plus the tip;
- with a split payment, choose whether it is paid in cash or on the card. Never on customer credit.
The tip prints separately on the receipt (Tip (no VAT), then Total paid). It is not part of turnover, VAT or loyalty points. Above half the receipt, the till asks you to confirm; it cannot be more than the sale amount (or 20,00 MAD on a small receipt).
After payment
- The Sale saved screen shows the change to give. The sale is saved on this till, then sent to the server automatically.
- Print receipt (or automatic printing if it is set up). A reprint is marked DUPLICATE.
- New sale (or Enter) for the next customer.
If payment seems to fail
If a message says the software is not responding, try again: the sale is not lost and will be recorded only once, even if you press twice.
Licence and subscription
If a banner says new sales are blocked (licence expired for lack of connection, subscription suspended), see Offline and sync. A payment already started always completes.
