Customer credit (the credit book)

Customer record, credit limit, selling on credit, repayments, statement, corrections.

Creating a customer record

Customers and credit › New customer: the name is enough. The phone number is only saved if you tick the customer's consent.

The credit limit

No credit is possible until a manager has set a credit limit (the maximum amount owed). 0 means no credit. A sale that would go over the limit is refused.

Selling on credit

At payment, choose Customer credit, then the customer (or a credit part in a split payment). On the till screen, the customer's balance stays hidden: tap Show balance to see it, out of sight of other customers.

Taking a repayment

In the customer's record: Take a repayment, amount, payment method. A cash repayment is counted in the open till (an open till session is needed). A repayment is not a sale: it does not count in turnover.

Account statement

Account statement: opening balance, transactions for the period with receipt numbers, closing balance, and the age of the debt (0–30, 31–60, 61–90, over 90 days; the oldest debts are settled first). Print on A4, an 80 mm roll or the receipt printer.

Correcting a balance

Correct balance (manager) adds a line to the credit book with a required reason (for example, bringing over the paper credit book). Nothing is ever changed or deleted.
