Selling

Search, scan, weigh, discounts and promotions, held baskets.

Before you sell: open the till

If the screen shows The till is closed, count the opening float in the drawer, enter it, then Open shift. See Till: opening and closing.

Adding products

  • Search: type a name, a SKU or a barcode in the search box (F2). Enter adds the product if there is only one match.
  • Scan: a barcode scanner types the code and confirms on its own.
  • Tap a tile: the grid shows 120 products at a time; narrow it down with search or categories, or tap Show more products. The quick keys at the top of the grid give your best sellers.
  • Product families (sizes, colours…): a family tile opens the variant choice.
  • Products sold by weight: the till asks for the quantity in kg (shortcuts 0.25 / 0.5 / 1 / 2 kg).
  • Scale labels: scan the label printed by the scale. The weight or price is read from the label, and the line's quantity can then no longer be changed. A label that reads badly is rejected: scan it again.

Correcting the receipt

Tap a line to change the quantity (+ / −), or Remove. Clear empties the whole receipt.

Discounts, prices and promotions

  • Promotions: applied automatically (one per line, the best one for the customer, and one on the receipt). They show on the line and on the receipt. They are set up in Promotions and loyalty, for all shops or only some: a promotion limited to another shop never applies on this till. Promotions marked Central come from the owner's area (Catalogue › Promotions) with the catalogue: they apply like the others (one more promotion among which the till picks the best), but can only be changed there.
  • Scheduled prices: a price change the owner set in advance reaches the till with the catalogue; the till switches price by itself at the shop's local time, even offline, and every receipt keeps the price at the time of sale. The list is in the Catalogue.
  • Line discount, Change price, Discount on the receipt: managers only. A reason is required and shows in the audit log.
  • Loyalty customer (optional): adding a customer to the receipt earns them points on the part paid with money (not on credit, nor on the part paid with points). If the manager has turned it on, the customer can also pay with their points: see Taking payment.
  • Customer in a group (wholesaler, reseller): choosing them on the receipt recalculates it at their prices (the group's price list or %), before promotions and discounts. See Customer groups and wholesale prices.

Putting a receipt on hold

Customer forgot something? Park sets the receipt aside on this till (with an optional name or note), with no sale and no stock movement. To pick it up again: Parked baskets button › Resume. A basket older than 24 h is flagged. Clearing a resumed basket records it as cancelled.

Stock never blocks a sale

You can sell a product whose stock shows zero: the till records the sale and the stock goes negative (flagged in Stock). Only exception: a recalled batch cannot be sold.
