Where to find it
On the till, Orders › Kitchen tab: the orders sent to the kitchen that have not yet been handed to the customer (open, or paid today), with what each station still has to prepare.
To prepare
At the top, To prepare adds up, by station (kitchen, bar), the items from orders not yet Ready: for example “5 × Black coffee — No sugar”. Items are grouped by product and options; notes for the kitchen are not added up (they stay on the ticket). A cancelled, ready or handed-over order no longer counts.
- On the kitchen screen, the To prepare button at the top shows the same totals for the tickets on that screen (the tab of the chosen station, or All).
- For a station that prints its tickets, an order counts until you tap Ready or Handed over on the till: if nobody does, the totals keep growing all day.
Received and Ready from the till
For a station that prints its tickets on paper (no kitchen screen), each order shows Received and Ready next to the station:
- Received: the kitchen has picked up the ticket.
- Ready: this station's part of the order is done (Ready also counts as Received).
These buttons only appear once the ticket has printed. A ticket that did not go out is dealt with first using Already received in kitchen or Print at the till. If the order was changed in the meantime, the till refuses Ready and loads the new version: check it, then tap Ready again. A station linked to the kitchen screen is handled on the screen, not on the till. There is no undo on the till: a Ready tapped by mistake stays recorded.
These times count in the Café reports › Kitchen, like those from the screen.
Handed over
Handed over records that the customer has received their order. It then leaves the Kitchen tab and the ready-orders display, and any phone number on it is deleted. An open order that has been handed over still needs payment as usual.
Adding items to a paid order
Customer wants another coffee after paying? Orders › Paid tab › Add on their order. The receipt shows “Adding to paid order No. …”: tap the new items, then Charge.
- The addition is a separate sale, paid straight away, with its own till receipt: “ADDED TO ORDER” and the number of the original receipt are printed on it. The first receipt never changes. There is no “pay later” addition: for that, send a new order.
- The kitchen gets the new items under the same order number (an AMENDED ticket with “+” signs, or NEW for a station that had nothing). If the order had been Handed over, it comes back to the Kitchen tab and the ready-orders display: tap Handed over again once the customer has everything. The “order ready” text message is not sent again.
- Additions are made the same day (the same trading day as the first payment) and on the till that holds the order (see Several tills in a café). Cancel addition clears the receipt without recording anything.
- To refund, Refund asks which sale: Original sale or Addition 1, Addition 2… Each sale is refunded separately, with its own credit note. The order is only cancelled once all its sales have been refunded.
- In the Café reports, an order paid in several goes counts as one order.
Option quantities, price reductions and station per option
In Catalogue › Options, each option has three more settings:
- Max quantity (1 to 9): above 1, the till shows − and + under the chosen option, for example “Shot ×2”. The extra charge counts that many times (2 × 2.50 = 5.00 per coffee), and so does the recipe (two doses of coffee). An option taken twice counts once towards the group's maximum number of choices.
- A negative extra charge is a price reduction, for example “No milk” at -3.00. An item's price never drops below 0: it stops at 0.00, and the catalogue warns you when a linked product could get there. In a combo, a reduction lowers the item's share without ever charging more than the combo price.
- Kitchen station: Same as product (default), Kitchen, Bar or No ticket. An option sent to another station prints a line there marked [Options only] (for example the cookie with a coffee, prepared in the kitchen), and the product's station does not see it. No ticket: the option goes on no kitchen ticket (a takeaway bag). The price and reports stay with the product.
The till receipt shows “incl. Shot x2 +5.00/u” or “incl. No milk -3.00/u”.
Kitchen stations (up to six)
In Receipts and printing › Kitchen stations (manager), the till starts with two stations, Kitchen and Bar. Add a station creates more (pastry, shisha, ice cream…), up to six. For each station:
- Printed name: the ticket header (“===== PASTRY =====”), 24 characters at most, different from the other stations. Arabic name (optional): shown on the till and the kitchen screen in Arabic; the paper ticket keeps the printed name.
- Send to: Printer (the station's network printer), Screen or Screen + printer (with the kitchen screen), or None (till): no paper and no screen, this station's orders stay in Orders › Kitchen with Received and Ready.
- Paper fallback: where to print when the kitchen screen does not respond — Automatic (the station's printer, otherwise the till's), Till printer, or another station's printer (the ticket says “printed at BAR station”). A printer fault is always dealt with from the red banner.
- The printer address is specific to each till: set it on every till in the café.
Then choose the station for a product (product record), a category (Categories) or an option (Options). A kitchen screen shows one or more stations: Stations on the paired screen (Kitchen screen) changes them without pairing again.
Delete this station is refused while it is still in use (products, categories, options, default station, another station's fallback, a screen for which it is the only station, orders in progress): the till tells you what to change. A deleted station keeps its history in reports (“(deleted)”) and can be restored further down. Stations go to the other tills with the menu file (see Several tills in a café).
Sound
The till plays a sound when an order becomes Ready and when you tap Handed over; so does the ready-orders display. Sound is on by default. To turn it off on this till: untick Sound on “Ready” and “Handed over” on this till in the Kitchen tab. On the ready-orders display, tap Sound on at the top; if Sound off — tap the screen appears, tap the screen once to allow sound.
Letting the customer know by text message
When the till has text messaging set up, each order shows SMS: enter the customer's mobile number (06 or 07 followed by 8 digits) and tick The customer agrees to be notified by SMS. One number per order; Remove the number deletes it. When the order is Ready, a message “Your order No. … is ready.” is sent once only. The number is never shown in full (only its last two digits), and it is deleted as soon as the message is sent or the order is handed over or cancelled, at the latest after 24 h (see Customer privacy).
For now, no text message provider is connected: the message is only recorded in the till's log. With no messaging set up, the SMS button does not appear.
VAT by order type (not used in Morocco)
In Morocco, a café's VAT does not depend on the order type (eat in, takeaway, delivery): leave this setting empty. For another country only, Catalogue › VAT rates › Advanced: VAT by order type lets you give an incl. tax rate a different rate per order type. The price paid never changes; only the VAT share on the receipt changes, and only on the sale of a café order paid in that order type. A sale already recorded keeps its rate.
