Getting started

Signing in with your PIN, two-step verification for managers, switching user and language, forgotten PIN.

Signing in

  1. On the Who's on the till? screen, tap your name.
  2. Type your PIN (4 to 8 digits), then Enter.

Everyone has their own PIN: the sales, returns and cash movements they make are recorded under their name in the audit log. Never lend your PIN.

After 5 wrong PINs, the account is locked for 5 minutes. A session lasts 12 hours at most; after that, the till asks for the PIN again.

Managers and owner: two-step verification

The manager and owner roles give access to money and settings, so a PIN alone is not enough.

  1. The first time you sign in, the Turn on two-step verification screen appears.
  2. Install an authenticator app on your phone (Google Authenticator, Microsoft Authenticator…) and scan the QR code.
  3. Write down the backup codes and keep them somewhere safe: they will not be shown again. Each one lets you sign in once if you lose your phone.

From then on, every time you sign in: your PIN, then the 6-digit code from the app (or a backup code). Each code works only once.

Lost your phone and out of backup codes? Another manager or the owner can reset your two-step verification from Team › Reset two-step. You will set up a new one the next time you sign in.

Switching user, switching language

  • Menu at the top right › Switch user: ends your session and the till goes back to the sign-in screen. The receipt in progress is not lost.
  • FR | EN | العربية on the sign-in screen or in the menu: switches the whole till to French, English or Arabic (Arabic reads right to left). Amounts stay in Latin digits.
  • ? key: list of keyboard shortcuts (F2 search, F9 take payment, Esc close a window).

Roles

  • Cashier: sells, takes payment, prepares returns (approved by a manager). No discounts, price changes, cash movements or settings.
  • Manager and owner: everything, including discounts, prices, cash movements, credit limits, the catalogue, the team and settings. Only the owner can turn on the online dashboard.
  • Custom roles (a cashier with a few extra permissions): created by the owner on the online dashboard, see Team roles and permissions.

Team members are added in Team › Add a member; give them their PIN in person.

Forgotten PIN, changing your PIN, deactivating an account

  • Change your PIN: menu at the top right › Change my PIN (current PIN, then the new one twice).
  • Forgotten PIN: a manager or the owner opens Team › New PIN on your row and types the new PIN twice. Any lock is lifted and your open sessions are closed. To change a manager's or the owner's PIN, the person making the change confirms with their own PIN and their own authenticator code; only the owner can change another owner's PIN.
  • When someone leaves: Team › Turn off. The account can no longer sign in, but its past sales and actions stay under its name. Reactivate makes it usable again. Nobody can deactivate themselves, and the shop always keeps at least one active owner.

With several tills, these changes apply to every till in the shop at their next sync (a few seconds when online). Without internet, they take effect straight away on this till and are sent as soon as the connection is back. Everything is recorded in the audit log.
